The domain is broad: "slaverystories" not "americanslaverystories". Hence my recommendation since american slavery is such a small part of the vast history of slavery.

Fix spacing around italic words

A minor bug: words in italic do not have a space before and after them, as they should do. For example: http://www.slaverystories.org/harriet-jacobs/1 This is a great project.
